electronic sculptures, video, sound, software, motion sensors. Interactive installation consisting of a series of sculptures filled with water, set in motion by sound. Different sound frequencies create patterns on the water surfaces. The sculptures appear as different developmental stages of the same species and will communicate with the audience through sounds and movements in the water. Water is the foundation of all life as we know it. The installation is a meeting between the audience and an alien entity, but also a meeting between fantasy and reality or between the visible and the invisible, through the sound waves that become visible on the water surfaces. It can also be described as a meeting between biological and technological life forms. It consis of three sculptures made from old radios with moving antennas, an interactive video projection on a satellite dish, a corded phone, lights and background sound. The installation is interactive and will notice you when you enter the van. With the old phone it is possible to interact with the different elements in the installation. You can control some aspects of the system, but the system also has its own will. And will not always do exactly what is expected. Occasionally the phone will ring. “Art on Wheels” is a collaboration between NOASS Art Centre in Riga and Fargefabrikken in Fredrikstad. The project consisst of two vans on tour in Latvia and Norway with exhibition and workshop for children and youth. When the audience touches the dish, the sound will become louder, the colours stronger, and the colours would also gradually change. Sometimes a voice can be heard from the radio.
